Prostrate problems
Symptoms
Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy
This is a non malignant enlargement of the prostate gland, usually occurring in men over the age of 50. Because of the prostates position, enlargement will interfere with urine flow. Urination becomes increasingly difficult and the bladder never feels completely empty. The condition is progressive and if left untreated medical intervention may be required. It is important to note that surgery may result in impotence.
Prostatitis
Is an infection of the prostate gland from either urinary infections, venereal disease or from blood borne infection. Symptoms include pain or discomfort on urinating with aching in the pelvis and groin, fever is sometimes present.
